2nd SHIFT FINISHING TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:

The 2nd Shift Finishing Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of post-press equipment including perfect binders, flat cutters, case makers, drills, coilers, stitchers, trimmers, laminators, and more. This role ensures that finished printed materials meet quality standards and production deadlines, contributing to the efficient and accurate completion of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain finishing equipment including but not limited to:
    • Perfect binders
    • Flatbed and guillotine cutters
    • Case making machines
    • Paper drills
    • Spiral and coil binding machines
    • Saddle stitchers and trimmers
    • Laminators (thermal and pressure-sensitive)
  • Perform equipment setups and changeovers per job specifications.
  • Monitor quality throughout production runs to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Work with the production team to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Accurately document production data and machine logs.
  • Follow company safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating print finishing equipment preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn various machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and overtime as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with short-run digital book manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of production scheduling and workflow.
  • Forklift certification (a plus, but not required).

    LOGISTICS & FULFILLMENT COORDINATOR

    Position Summary:

    The Logistics & Fulfillment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the entire shipping and order fulfillment process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. This includes managing staff, coordinating logistics, optimizing systems, and maintaining quality control from order receipt through delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily shipping and fulfillment operations including order processing, packaging, labeling, and dispatch
    • Lead and supervise the fulfillment team, including training, scheduling, and performance management
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels and coordinate with production, procurement, and other departments
    • Oversee relationships with shipping carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries
    • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve order accuracy and fulfillment speed
    • Monitor and analyze key KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery rate, order accuracy, shipping cost per unit)
    • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations (domestic and international), including documentation and customs
    • Manage warehouse space and product flow to maximize efficiency and safety
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries related to order status, shipping delays, or delivery issues
    • Collaborate with IT or systems teams to optimize use of fulfillment software or WMS

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in shipping, fulfillment, or warehouse operations, with 1+ years in a supervisory role
    • Knowledge of shipping software, WMS systems, and carrier platforms (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL, etc.)
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Comfortable working with data, metrics, and reporting tools
    • Ability to lead a team and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
    • Forklift certification (preferred)

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Standing, walking, and handling materials for extended periods
    • Working in warehouse environments, which may include varying temperatures
